Thank you for using WebInspector. This privacy policy explains our commitment to your privacy and how the extension handles your data.
1. Core Purpose
WebInspector is a developer tool designed to help you inspect, debug, and interact with network traffic directly within the Chrome DevTools panel.
2. Local Processing Only
All network data is processed locally on your computer. The WebInspector extension does not save, store, copy, or transmit any of your personal information or network traffic data to any external server or third party. Your data stays on your machine, always.
3. Data Persistence
To improve your experience, the extension saves certain preferences locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API.
What We Save:
- UI & Filter Preferences: Your chosen theme (Dark/Light), the checked/unchecked state of filters (for Methods, Types, etc.), and other interface settings.
- Ignored Domains List: Your custom list of domains to hide from the network log.
What We DO NOT Save:
The core network data—including the URLs, headers, and bodies of your captured requests—remains ephemeral. This information exists only in your browser's memory while the DevTools panel is open and is permanently discarded when the panel is closed.
